[origin: EP1344944A1] The pump has a shredding device for fibrous or particled material set in front of the pump rotor. The cutting head (8) of the shredding device has several axially aligned recesses (18) defined by webs which have cutting edges and which cover the inlet edges of the blades (11) of the rotor wheel and have a seamless transition into the contour of the blades whilst the recesses have a seamless transition into the channels (12) of the rotor.
