[origin: EP1345187A2] Safety case (1) for banknotes has a housing (2) with a wall (9) with a receiving compartment (5) in which a card (8), preferably a chip card, can be inserted or removed. The invention also relates to a card for insertion into a case card slot, said card having markings with information about the use and or contents, i.e. the number and type of notes, of the case. Information can be provided in text or ink with a memory chip providing similar or extended information in electronic format.
