Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1345246A2] An activator comprises a fixed primary element, a movable secondary element, and a permanent magnet and spool. The secondary element is pulled into a primary position against spring pressure by magnetic attraction, and is in contact with the primary element. When a fault current occurs, the spool creates an opposing magnetic flux, pushing the element into a secondary position. An activator for a fault current protection switch, comprises a fixed primary element, a movable secondary element, and a permanent magnet and spool. The secondary element is pulled into a primary position against spring pressure by magnetic attraction, and is in contact with the primary element. When a fault current occurs, the spool creates an opposing magnetic flux so the spring pressure exceeds the magnetic force, pushing the element into a secondary position. The contacts have a passifying layer which is resistant to water, oil, grease and silicone. The layer consists of PTFE.
