[origin: WO02055472A1] The invention relates to a method for producing higher (meth)acrylic acid esters by esterifying (meth)acrylic acid with the corresponding alcohols in a reactor having a rotating evaporator, in the presence of at least one acid catalyst, one polymerisation inhibitor / polymerisation inhibitor mixture, and one solvent which forms an azeotrope with water. The inventive method is suitable for producing higher (meth)acrylic acid esters using higher monovalent or polyvalent alcohols, polyether alcohols or polyester alcohols. Said method can, however, be preferably used to produce higher (meth)acrylic acid esters having a molecular weight of > 200 g/mol. Such esters can no longer be purified by distillation.
