Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2230297A1] Provided is a cell culture apparatus comprising: a frame comprising a housing, and at least one aperture which comprises an opening through the frame, wherein each aperture of the at least one aperture contains a septum; at least one gas permeable membrane, wherein the at least one gas permeable membrane is securedly sealed in a leak-proof sealing to the frame in forming a portion of a wall of a culture chamber; a rigid surface which forms a wall of the culture chamber, wherein the culture chamber is formed between the at least one gas permeable membrane and the rigid surface and the frame, and wherein the at least one gas permeable membrane includes permeability performance at 1 atmosphere and at 37°C for O 2 ranging between 1.125 x 10 -16 to about 3.00 x 10 -16 m 3 /s Pa and for CO 2 ranging between 6.00 x 10 -16 to about 7.125 x 10 -16 m 3 /s Pa.
