[origin: WO0248540A1] The fuel injection device comprises a pump working chamber (18), defined by a pump piston (14), which may be filled with fuel through a connection, controlled by a control valve device (30; 130) and which may be connected to a discharge chamber (31). The pump working chamber (18) is separated from the discharge chamber (31) during each fuel injection by means of the control valve device (30; 130) and connected to the discharge chamber (31), by means of the control valve device (30; 130), in order to end the fuel injection. Furthermore, to interrupt a fuel injection, a connection of the pump working chamber (18) to a pressure chamber (32) of the injection valve member (22) is controlled by means of the control valve device (30; 130), whereby the injection valve member (22) is at least indirectly pressurised by the pressure in the pressure chamber (32) in the closing direction.
