[origin: WO0237587A2] A hybrid power system having means for controlling an operational parameter thereof, while concomitantly operating the system efficiently. The system includes an electrochemical converter system, including a fuel cell and a thermal control stack, that is combined with a cogeneration or bottoming device, such as a gas turbine assembly. The hybrid power system employs one or more fluid regulating devices for regulating or controlling one or more fluid flows in the system. The fluid regulating device thus enables the system to control the power output or temperature of the fuel cell and/or the gas turbine assembly, as well as the speed of the turbine.
