Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1347096A2] An assembly dries a continual web feed of tissue paper and has a drying cylinder (1) and hot air drying hood (2, 3). The components making up the air feed system such as the jet feed basket (9) and air feed passage (4) are especially de-coupled from the hood frame (10). The jet-feed basket is suspended from an overhead swivel-mount (13) within the housing and rests (14) upon a lower sliding frame (10). The lower support point (14) is adjustable. The housing (10) and jet feed basket are presented on opposite sides of and transverse to the paper web. During operation the interval between the hood and cylinder is maintained by a sensor linked to a drive unit. The interval between the hood and cylinder is essentially uniform at temperatures between 550degrees and 700degreesC.
