[origin: EP1347125A2] Parking system for motor vehicles comprises several parking spaces (1-3) arranged above and next to each other for independent parking. Many parking spaces are positioned on lifting columns (4, 5) which move vertically to reach driving-in and driving-out planes. One part of the parking space is moved horizontally on at least one guide rail (6) to produce a gap. The guide rail is divided at least partly into sections which extend over the width of a parking space. These sections are connected to a vertically moving parking space arranged below or above. Preferred Features: The guide rail section is connected to the parking space arranged below.
