Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1347155A2] Rear silencer has chambers (B, C) of a housing (2) each having a glass wool lining (13). The pipe ends of the exhaust gas outlet pipes (5, 6) have perforations (15) on the periphery and are surrounded by a free chamber (11) also lined with glass wool. The free chamber extends on the front side from one free end of the pipe up to the mouth opening of a further exhaust gas outlet pipe (7, 8) having perforated surfaces (17) directly enclosed by the glass wool. Preferred Features: The free chambers are each sealed on the front side by a perforated base (20, 21) for the pipes (5, 6) and the perforations lie on the pipe periphery approximately in the center of the free chamber.
