Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1347168A2] Fuel injector for an internal combustion engine comprises a housing (4), a nozzle part held on the housing by a screw connection, and an insert arranged in an axial bore in the housing and having a control element. The insert is tensioned against the nozzle part held on the housing and a counterpart (5) arranged in front of the nozzle part. The insert is also tensioned against the housing via a supporting sleeve (17) supported in shoulders (18, 19) on the housing and on the insert. In the mounted state the length of the supporting sleeve can be compressed. Preferred Features: In the mounted state the supporting sleeve is compressed in the elastic or elastoplastic region.
