Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0248968A2] The invention relates to a device for monitoring equipment which is controlled by a user. The equipment contains a monitoring device (10), wherein an actuating element (12) is inserted. Said actuating element is supplied with memory means (80, 82, 84) and is associated with a specialised, authorised user. The equipment is actuated only when the actuating element (12) is inserted. When operated, the processes which are to be monitored can be stored in the memory means (80, 82, 84) of the actuating element (12), for example, in order to monitor motor vehicles for unauthorised overlong periods of driving by a certain driver. The invention also relates to monitoring the commands of aircraft in order to ensure that the aircraft can only be flown by an authorised pilot. Interchangeable body characteristics of the driver or pilot, e.g. finger prints, are memorised in the actuating element. The real body characteristics are detected by sensors and compared to the memorised characteristics. The vehicle or aircraft can only be used when the detected and memorised body characteristics are identical.
