[origin: US2004072469A1] An electrical cable interconnection system for interconnecting the stripped ends of at least two multi-phase high current, low voltage input cables (10, 12, 301, 302), the system including: a base portion (307) for engaging the two input cables in a substantially horizontal manner; a connector block (40, 312) laterally displaced from the base portion and adapted to receive the ends of the input cables; a series of mating shell pieces (46, 319) together forming a water tight seal around the stripped ends of the input cables and the connector block (40, 312). The mating shell pieces form a water or moisture tight seal around the cables which enables the system to be used below ground. The sealing method includes the use of o-rings and settable materials. Another embodiment has the base portion integral with the upper shell pieces and the cables are held at an angle.
