A component for the casting of liquid metal comprises a base body of refractory material including external and internal surfaces defining a channel for casting the liquid metal. At least part of the internal surface of the component is coated with an insulating coating forming a layer impermeable to gas, on contact with the liquid metal An Independent claim is also included for a method for the coating of such a casting component.

La présente invention concerne une pièce pour la coulée d'un métal liquide, comprenant un corps de base en matériau réfractaire, ledit corps comprenant une surface externe et une surface interne définissant un chenal pour la coulée du métal liquide. Cette pièce est caractérisée en ce qu'au moins une partie de sa surface interne est revêtue d'un enduit isolant formant, au contact du métal liquide, une couche imperméable aux gaz. Une telle pièce possède une excellente résistance au choc thermique qui lui permet d'être utilisée sans préchauffage. Par après, il se forme une couche réduisant avantageusement sa perméabilité aux gaz.
