Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1348571A1] The binding device uses an elongate edge binder (42) with 2 curved side sections which are initially spaced apart for fitting in aligned edge perforations in the stacked sheets (29) via an insertion device (36) before closure of the edge binder. The insertion device has a pivot mechanism (50) for pivoting the open edge binder about its longitudinal axis, along a path corresponding to the curvature of the side sections, during insertion in the edge perforations, the edge binder transferred to the reception station via a transport device (40) with 2 perpendicular support surfaces. An Independent claim for a method for binding a paper sheet stack is also included.
