[origin: EP1348574A1] Stacks of sheets (50) to make up a book or folder are presented with their edges in alignment and their perforations (52) form straight bores through the stack near one edge. The alignment system changes the straight bores into curved bores ready for insertion of a ring binder. The pins (16a,b) are pushed toward each other in the bores in a straight line until their tips overlap. The pins are mounted on support blocks (56a,b) on lever arms (14a,b) which are pivoted together on hinges (12a,b). As the pins are withdrawn by pivoting the arms about their hinges, they realign the stack so that the perforations form curved bores which fit the ring binder.
