[origin: DE10100945A1] The method involves comparing the cell voltages of each two battery cells using a voltage comparison circuit and at least partly shunting the charging current for the battery cells with the highest voltage after a defined cell voltage difference has been exceeded. The comparison circuit is polled at intervals by a logic circuit. Independent claims are also included for the following: an arrangement for charging serial connected battery cells.
