[origin: EP1350931A1] The camshaft assembly has lubricating oil passage (9) with an outlet on the bearing face of the camshaft bearing (4,6,8). At least one axially extending slot (10,10b) is provided in the corresponding bearing face of the camshaft (1a) and which communicates with the outlet of the lubricating oil passage during the corresponding angular position of the camshaft and which has an outlet in the region outside the bearing face.
