Abstract (en)

[origin: US2005028661A1] A film dispenser comprises a housing provided with at least one dispensing compartment, and a separating profile section associated with a dispensing opening of the dispensing compartment. A separating device comprising at least one separating knife and a press element is supported such that it is movable along the separating profile section transversely to a slip of film which is drawn from a roll of film disposed in the dispensing compartment. A separating device can also be implemented as a separate component and used together with a dispensing compartment and a suitable separating profile section independently of the film dispenser as an attachment or as an insert component for the film dispenser. In order to improve a film dispenser or a separating device of this kind in such a way that the drawn slip of film can, for the purpose of cutting, be fixed more effectively on the basis of a simple structural design and at a reasonable price, the press element is implemented as a moving strip which is supported such that it is adapted to circulate in said separating device and which causes the slip of film adjacent to the separating knife to remain tensed at least in a linear manner along the direction of displacement of said knife.
