Abstract (en)

[origin: WO02055827A1] The invention relates to a blade element for shading and/or light guiding devices for buildings, comprising a supporting profile section (2), at least two plate carriers (3) which are secured to the supporting profile section (2) and which at least partially surround said supporting profile section (2), in addition to at least one plate (4) which is made of glass, plastic, natural or artificial stone or similar and which is held by the plate carriers.According to the invention, the supporting profile section (2) has a non-circular cross-section and the plate carriers (3) are provided with a contour which is fully or at least partially adapted to the cross-section of the supporting profile section (2) in the area thereof which surrounds the supporting profile section (2) . Said design provides a simpler construction for the entire blade element (1). Another major advantage is that the plate carriers (3) do not need to be aligned since only one sensible mounting option is provided for the plate supports (3) on the supporting profile section (2) by virtue of the non-circular cross-section. The plate which is made of glass, plastic, natural or artificial stone or similar can thus be mounted in a stress-free manner without the need for alignment work to be carried out with respect to the plate carriers (3).
