[origin: DE10216356C1] The applicator head has a housing with a roller chamber to spread a liquid thermoplastic material or a molten fusible adhesive over a moving material web, without contact. The chamber contains a powered roller body to push out the coating material through a jet slit across the web. The roller body has grooves in the cylinder body, to be filled with the coating through radial drillings from the hollow center of the roller, and be aligned with the applicator jet as it rotates. The applicator head has a housing (12) with a roller chamber (20) to spread a liquid thermoplastic material or a molten fusible adhesive over a moving material web, without contact. The chamber contains a powered roller body (13) to push out the coating material through a jet slit (18) across the web. The roller body has grooves (27) in the cylinder body, to be filled with the coating through radial drillings (28) from the hollow center (29) of the roller, and be aligned with the applicator jet as it rotates. The cylinder body has a second set of grooves (31), containing closure bars (32) which are tensed against the roller chamber surface.
