Abstract (en)

[origin: WO02057177A2] The invention relates to a mobile crane comprising a telescopic jib (1) that can be telescopically extended by means of a drive. Said jib has a base box section (6) that is connected to the superstructure (7) of the mobile crane (10) by means of a rotational joint (2) and one or more projections, (inner box sections 3, 4, 5), that can be telescopically extended and retracted. The jib can be raised from a substantially horizontal position used for transport into a working position by means of a derrick cylinder (8). According to the invention, the retracted telescopic jib (1) is longer than the length of the chassis (LF) and at least the principal telescopic sections of the retracted telescopic jib (1), when in the substantially horizontal position, can be displaced backwards in relation to the superstructure (7). The invention achieves its aim of ensuring that the overhang of the telescopic jib in relation to the chassis of the mobile crane does not exceed a permissible dimension in the transport position, whilst maintaining the maximum length possible of the telescopic jib when telescopically extended, without the need for releasing the rotational bearing on the base box section, and of maintaining a simple construction.
