[origin: EP1354702A2] The sheet guide device has a sheet guide surface (11) facing the sheet (6) that has a hydrophilic surface and that is cooled by a cooling device (15). The cooling temperature of the cooled sheet guiding surface is below the dew point of the ambient air of the sheet guiding surface and a layer of moisture is condensed from the water content of the air onto the sheet guiding surface.
