Eine Stranggießkokille für flüssige Metalle (5), insbesondere für flüssigen Stahl, die mit unterschiedlichen Gießgeschwindigkeiten, etwa bis 10 m / min oder höher vergießbar sind, wobei unterschiedliche Dicken des Gießstrangs als Bramme wie auch als Dünnbramme vorgesehen sind und die Wärme mittels durch in Gießrichtung verlaufende Kanäle (2) geführtes Kühlmittel (3) abführbar ist, gestattet für die Erzeugung eines fehlerfreien Endproduktes eine Abstimmung einer Mindestzahl grundlegender Parameter dadurch, dass die Kupferplatten-Restdicke (1c) vor einem Kanal (2) für Kühlmittel (3) zur Heißseite (4), die Anordnung und die Abmessungen der Kanäle (2) und die Strömungsgeschwindigkeit des Kühlmittels (3) auf den gesamten Bereich der Gießgeschwindigkeiten für das Gießmetall (5) abgestimmt sind. <IMAGE>
