[origin: EP1357070A2] Device for aligning sheets by the front edge comprises a number of lay marks (2) consisting of front marks (4) and top marks (3), which are moved from a position on the feed table (1), in which the top marks catch the sheets and the front marks form a feed line, into a position below the feed table and thus out of the path of the sheets. The lay marks are pivotably arranged on an eccentric mark shaft so that they correspond with clamping rings rotationally fixed on the mark shaft. Each front mark is supported in its position on the feed table against a driven element (21) of a control mechanism (22). Preferred Features: A driven rocker (17) of a coupling mechanism (14) is rotationally fixed to the mark shaft to move the lay marks from the position on the feed table into the position below the feed table.
