[origin: EP1357075A1] In a car apparatus for a double-deck elevator, an upper car and a lower car are suspended in a main frame by a suspending member. Also, the upper car and the lower car are suspended in relation to the main frame by an odd number roping method. The distance between the upper car and the lower car is adjusted by a car position adjusting driving machine according to distances between floors.
