[origin: EP1357079A2] A workshop car lift has a base with two upright jack columns (1a, 2a), each with two articulated telescopic side arms (3, 4, 5, 6). The arms are swivelled and presented to the correct under-body lift points. Two of the arms have a supplementary articulated sections (13, 14) on opposite sides of the column.
