Abstract (en)
The micro-electromechanical system has a substrate (S) and a pair of micro-elements (1,2) having facing surfaces (3a,4a) generated via a structuring method with a minimum separation characteristic. One of the micro-elements is bistable and is switched into a second bistable state in which the separation of the surfaces is less than the minimum separation characteristic. An Independent claim for a manufacturing method for a micro-electromechanical system is also included.

Ein mikro-elektromechanisches System umfasst ein Substrat (S) und mindestens zwei Mikro-Elemente (1,2), von denen ein erstes bistabil schaltbar ist. Die Mikro-Elemente (1,2) weisen einander zugewandte Flächen (3a,4a) auf, die mittels eines Strukturierungsverfahrens erzeugt sind und dadurch zunächst mindestens einen für das Strukturierungsverfahren charakteristischen Minimalabstand voneinander aufweisen. Dann wird das erste Mikro-Element (1) in den anderen stabilen Zustand (B) geschaltet, wodurch der Abstand zwischen den einander zugewandten Flächen (3a,4a) kleiner als der für das Strukturierungsverfahren charakteristische Minimalabstand. Das mikro-elektromechanische System kann als elektrostatisch betätigbarer MikroSchalter mit verbesserter Schaltbarkeit ausgebildet sein. Lateral und horizontal arbeitende mikro-elektromechanische Systeme mit neuer Funktionalität und stromlos geschlossene Relais sind realisierbar. <IMAGE>
