[origin: DE10103916A1] The invention relates to a deposit-operated lock (1) for a trolley (15), in particular for a shopping trolley, with a fixing piece (4) for fixing to a support section (16) on the trolley (15), with an intermediate piece (6), connected to the fixing piece (4), for the purpose of fixing to or being supported by the handle bar (8) of the trolley (15). The deposit-operated lock (1) comprises a coupling device (2) and a coupling element (3), provided for the coupling of the deposit-operated lock (1) to a further similar trolley (15). The fixing piece (4) has an extension (5) in the direction of the handle bar (18) and the intermediate piece (6) has an extension (7) in the direction of the support section (16). The invention is characterised in that extensions (5, 7) are arranged so as to overlap each other and that the coupling device (2) is located in at least one of the extensions (5, 7).
