[origin: WO02053637A1] The invention relates to a rubber composition which can be used in a vulcanised state as a safety support (1) designed to be mounted on a wheel rim inside a tyre cover, one such support (1) which can support a tyre tread on said cover in the event of a drop in tyre pressure, a method of preparing said composition, and a mounted assembly comprising the support (1). The inventive composition, which comprises at least one diene elastomer, is such that it also comprises (pce: parts in weight per 100 parts of diene elastomer(s)): solid or hollow glass microspheres, having a quantity varying between 5 and 50 pce, more than 40 pce of reinforcing filler, and between 3 and 8 pce of sulphur.
