[origin: EP1360998A1] The roller, comprising a cylinder (6) with an outer covering (9) and an inner axle rod (2), has two end inserts (7) with inner, intermediate and outer collars. The intermediate and outer collars have smaller diameters than the inner ones to accommodate the in-turned edge (9a) of the roller's outer covering, and each insert has a central chamber (10) to receive a seal (12). The seal is elastically deformable in a radial direction and is inserted through a radial opening in the chamber.
