Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1361356A2] Device for displacing a cylinder block (1) and head relative to a crankcase has a connecting line (5) of bearing eyes or arms of the cylinder block lying vertical to the cylinder axis (9). The bearings of the adjusting shafts (4) and their cams run in the upper region of the cylinder block close to the cylinder head. The storage aisles of the adjusting shafts are arranged in the crankcase (2) above support strips which extend over the length of the crankcase. Preferred Features: The crankcase is made of light metal. The storage aisles of the adjusting shafts in the crankcase are made from light metal. The adjusting shafts are hollow.
