Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1361357A2] Fuel pump comprises a housing containing at least one piston driven backward and forward by drive devices, a working chamber partly delimited by the piston, an inlet channel and outlet channel connected to the working chamber, and a first valve arrangement (64) between the working chamber and the inlet channel and a second valve arrangement (74) between the working chamber and the outlet channel. The valve element (62) of one valve arrangement has a guide section (60) at least partly housed in a guide opening (58) formed in the valve element (72) of the other valve arrangement. The peripheral surface of the guide section and/or the guide opening has at least one recess reducing the contact surface between the guide section and the guide opening. An Independent claim is also included for an alternative fuel pump.
