Die Erfindung betrifft eine Leuchte (1, 11) zur Beleuchtung einer Arbeitsfläche (8) mit einem flächigen Leuchtmittel (2). Die ist Leuchte (1, 11) derart ausgestaltet, dass das von dem Leuchtmittel (2) abgegebene Licht (S1) auf die zur Ebene des Leuchtmittels (2) im wesentlichen senkrecht angeordnete Arbeitsfläche (8) abgestrahlt wird. Es wird dadurch einer sehr dünnen Leuchte (1, 11) erhalten, die nur wenig Platz in Anspruch nimmt und gleichzeitig eine optimale Ausleuchtung der Arbeitsfläche (8) gewährleistet. <IMAGE>
