Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1362819A2] The folder (1) in a web fed rotary press for the folding of signatures (2) has a cutting device (4) comprising a cutting knife (14) installed on a folding blade cylinder (8) and a rotating anvil element (16). A revolving band-form transporting element (12) is guided around the rotating anvil element, and during the cutting process of the signatures acts as a counter pressure element for the cutting knife. The transporting element is constructed as a belt guided in a slot formed on the anvil element, whereby the depth of the slot is slightly smaller than the thickness of the transporting element.
