[origin: DE10108195A1] The invention relates to a fuel injection valve (1) for directly injecting fuel into the combustion chamber of a mixture-compressing, spark-ignition internal combustion engine. The fuel injection valve comprises a valve housing consisting of a nozzle body (2), and comprises a sealing ring (34), which seals the fuel injection valve (1) against a cylinder head (35) of the internal combustion engine. When mounted, the sealing ring (34) is acted upon by a radial projection (40) of a plunger sleeve (36) that is arranged on the supply side of the sealing ring (34). The radial projection of the plunger sleeve acts upon the sealing ring in such a manner that for the benefit of the radial extension of the sealing ring (34), the axial extension of the sealing ring (34) is reduced in comparison to when the sealing ring (34) is not tensioned.
