[origin: WO02066822A1] The invention relates to a compensation element for positioning and supporting a fuel injection valve (1) in a cylinder head (2) of an internal combustion engine. Said element is embodied in the form of a support ring (8) and is arranged between a housing (13) of the fuel injection valve (1) and a wall (10) of a receiving bore hole (9) of the cylinder head (2). The support ring (8) has a round or oval cross-section and separates a shoulder (14) of the valve housing (13) from a shoulder (15) of the cylinder head (2).
