[origin: EP1364931A2] A propellant powder composition for barrelled weapons based on nitrocellulose and nitroglycerine and comprising a nitrated energetic organic compound consisting uniquely of carbon, nitrogen and hydrogen and comprising a nitrogen heterocycle. An Independent claim is included for a method of reducing the erosive effect and increasing the power of a powder propellant by incorporating the nitrated energetic compound.
