[origin: EP1365054A1] The base material (G) consists of wales (A) and stitches courses (B) and is produced with two guide rails. A third guide rail operating via a needle (C) is employed to generate a Velcro adhesion effect. It is located between the adjacent wales in such a way that it does not work with the base fabric but is nevertheless connected to it through an interconnection (E). The guide rail is connected in the base material with two stiches courses and is held alternatingly in relation to the adjacent wales. It is subsequently deflected into the empty needle to the left over two or more needles; the needle forms the yarn into a stitch.
