Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1365156A1] Seal for a water pump comprises a sealing ring (16) and a reinforcing ring (14) which is partially embedded in it. These are made from materials chosen so that shrinkage or swelling of the reinforcing ring is compensated for by swelling or shrinkage of the seal to ensure that sealing remains constant. An Independent claim is included for a pump fitted with the seal.
