[origin: WO02072959A1] A crack-inducing element (1) for use with fluid concrete has the form of an elongate, essentially planar board having two faces and four edges. There is formed adjacent to each edge at least one pair of depressions (4), one of each pair on each face in substantially opposing positions and adapted to receive one end of a double-ended fastener (8) which holds two adjacent elements together. Each face additionally is adapted to receive waterproofing means, preferably by means of a longitudinal, axial depression (5) with a series of holes (6) along its entire length. The elements are easy and inexpensive to manufacture, and easy to use and effective in practice.
