[origin: EP1366694A2] The mattress support, especially for a side section of a double bed with a center longitudinal beam dividing the sleeping area width, is a grid where the slats (8) extending over half the grid have end mountings with slat caps (7) and cap carriers (6) at the longitudinal grid beams (5). The cap carrier at the single center longitudinal beam takes the end caps of the slats aligned in both directions, with four fittings to take slat end caps of paired slats in opposite directions. The cap carrier has a base plate (9), and two downward spikes (10).
