Abstract (en)
A fragmentation casing (2) is made from a tungsten alloy with a resilience greater than 120 J/cm2, a drawing-out ratio above 10% and a rupture strength greater than 930 MPa. The thickness of the casing is 2-8 mm, and it has a network (9) of rupture lines penetrating to 2-50% of the casing's thickness. It also has at least one end cover (3, 5) made from a lower density material than the casing.

Le secteur technique de l'invention est celui des enveloppes génératrices d'éclats pour charge explosive. L'enveloppe (2) selon l'invention est caractérisée en ce qu'elle est réalisée en un alliage de tungstène ayant une résilience supérieure à 120 J/cm<2>, un taux d'allongement supérieur à 10% et une résistance à la rupture supérieure à 930 Mpa. <IMAGE>
