Abstract (en)
A period of time taken in manufacture of a cask for transportation and storage of spent fuel is shortened, and a radiation shielding capacity of a spent fuel cask is made uniform in an axial direction thereof. <??>A kneaded substance comprising a resin and a powder neutron absorber is injected into a horizontal mold. Subsequently, an operation of curing is performed. The resulting neutron shield body is taken out from the mold and is mounted between fins which are provided on an outside of an inner cylinder of a spent fuel cask. An outer cylinder is mounted on the fins to cover the neutron shield body. <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
