Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1367858A1] The heating installation consists of at least one pipe through which the product to be heated can flow, made from an electrically insulating material such as a plastic, ceramic or glass, and divided into tubular sections (1) by a series of rotary disc-shaped electrodes (3). When the electrodes are turned to close the ends of the pipe sections the volume of product between the electrodes can be heated by passing a current through it for a predetermined period of time. After heating the electrode discs are turned by their motors (4) so they lie parallel to the pipe's lengthwise axis, and the product can be evacuated.
