[origin: EP1369751A1] The device (7,8) is fixing toner on a substrate and comprises a heatable fixture roller (7) contacting the toner, heating to a temperature greater than or equal to its glass transition temperature. Before the heating of the toner by the fixture device, a pre-heating (1,2) is carried out without contact, with which the toner is heated to a temperature less than or equal to its glass transition temperature. A transport device for moving the substrate from the location of the pre-heating to that of fixing the toner is tempered at a constant temperature of preferably 40 degrees Celsius. The pre-heating device is connected to at least one microwave source.
