Abstract (en)

[origin: WO02072595A2] The invention relates to an improved method for the production of pentopyranosyl nucleosides, in which a significant improvement and simplification of the method steps described in DE-A-19741715 can be achieved. According to the invention, a migration of the 2' acyl protecting group, from the 2' position to the 3' position of the pentopyranoside can be achieved by the application of a catalyst of formula (IVa) or (IVb), where A = -CH>2<-, -NR?20>-,R<20>, H, optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl, D = a group of formula CmH2m-, m = a whole number from 1 to 6, R<18>, R<19> and R<24> independently = H, optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl, or R<18> and R<19> together represent a -CoH2o- group, where o = a whole number from 2 to 4 and R<21> = a NR<22>R<23> group, where R<22> and R<23> independently = H, optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl.
