[origin: WO02077274A2] The invention concerns novel double stranded DNA target sequences capable of interacting with a third strand and forming a stable triple helix. The invention also concerns a method for purifying a double stranded DNA molecule which consists in contacting a solution containing said DNA molecule with a third DNA strand capable of forming by hybridization a triple helix structure with a double stranded DNA target sequence borne by said DNA molecule.
