[origin: WO02073568A1] A device for data transmission between vehicle sensors and a processor in a controller is disclosed, which serves to decode data telegrams with sensor data from the vehicle sensors and to reformat the above into SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) data telegrams. An interface chip in the controller then transmits the SPI data telegrams to the processor of the controller. It is possible for the processor to call up either the most recent sensor data or the preceding sensor data by using an age-bit. The interface chip converts the sensor data into a 10-bit data field in an SPI data telegram, by filling in any possible missing data. The interface chip recognises data telegrams from the sensors by means of counting flanks.
