[origin: EP1371452A2] The mechanism is assembled of a clamping arm (1) swivel mounted to two vertically movable partly overlapping adjustment elements (4, 5). In order to reduce the spreading angle of the clamping arm (1) a screw (13) guided transversally through a slot (12) and a bore (11) located at the serrated lower end (10) of a first element (5) is loosened, disengaging the teeth (9) of the first element (5) and the second element (4) which is provided with a serrated edge (8) along one complete side. The clamping arm (1) can be swiveled into the required position and fixed by tightening the screw (13) again.
